WHY DO FAMILY RELATIONS AND MENTAL SOUNDNESS DETERMINE HAPPINESS?

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of happiness among university students. This study conducted a survey through questionnaire by requesting various questions concerning the overall happiness, socioeconomic factors, and demographic factors of the university students. The total number of respondents were 140 students of private sector universities of Lahore (overall response rate was about 93.33%). The analysis has been done through descriptive analysis and ordered logistic regression. The study found that those students are happier who are fulfilling relations with family and friends and are mentally balanced in their life. Moreover, financial status was found to be an insignificant determinant of happiness among the students of private universities of Lahore.
